Borneo Rosewood
(melanorrhea usitata)

Borneo Rosewood  is an uncommon wood from Southeast Asia.  The density is high and many have found it to be an excellent turning wood.  These have a very nice deep red color. Some skin reaction is possible with this wood. Either wear gloves or wash hands thoroughly after working on it. The sensation is like a very faint capsaicin feeling. Rare on the market now, new supplies are elusive.

SIZES ARE IN INCHES

Nice dried pieces in this very hard to find wood from Southeast Asia. It is the deepest red exotic that is also dense. Though it is very difficult to dry (must be done extra slowly), it is stable once dry. Color can be darkened by putting it in direct sunlight. Stays red long term, does not tend to turn brown. BEST of the reds in all woods we have found!

Pieces not listed below or that give an out of stock notice in the cart are sold
