Click Photo for second view. Dried pieces of Red palm in 2 x 6 x 6 inches. This is a fairly large bowl blank for this tree type. These have way above average red too.
These are nice high quality pieces and are not cracked/checked,
as well as being properly dried over years.
The nature of this wood is that any piece over about 1.5 inches thick usually has one side that is lighter then the others.
This is because the part of the tree we call palm wood is just the outer harder layer. The inside is usually white and soft and fibrous.
The thicker the piece, the closer it gets to the core, so the lighter it will be.

Actual pieces for sale shown, click photo for side 2.
Dried completely and the grades are Piece S: IQ,
and Piece T IQ/IQ2.
French boxwood that can produce this size is not
something we can find. This was from a one time rare log harvested
over 40 years ago.
RARE: this wood is so hard to get it is almost unknown in quality pieces like this for sale, anywhere (search on the net to find out what I'm talking about).
Pieces not shown below or that give an out of stock notice in the shopping cart are sold.

Wonderful dried and figured pieces that
look just like Koa, at a fraction of the price.
These all came from a very large slab. It was part of the outside of a
large tree and every bit of it was figured. Some Australian
blackwood looks more like the photo at the top of this page, but this slab
produced pieces that look so much like koa I cannot tell them apart from Koa,
and
I cannot guarantee that this isn't really koa that was mis-identified as
Aussie Blackwood.
