Burma Blackwood

Burma Blackwood is an unusual rosewood from Southeast Asia. NOTE: AS of 2021 we know of no new supplies of this wood for several years. We seem to be the only vendor that has any left currently. It is very dense with an interesting grain that is hard to put into words. There are greys, blacks/browns, and even little bits of bluish color. The grain varies greatly from one piece to the next. Reputedly it is good for musical instrument making and detail work. A fascinating wood. The endgrain is also interesting. Click here for an endgrain photo.

Ultra Rare Rosewood. This rosewood has not been imported in about 6 years. It is unlikely to be imported again, partly due to the problems in Burma and the surrounding area of Southeast Asia where this wood was harvested. The incredible glass like appearance and density make it a truly unique genuine rosewood. No other rosewood is similar in appearance.
