Flamewood
Flamewood is also known as Thai rosewood. The botanical name is dalbergia cochinensis. A very rare rosewood that is restricted for imnport through a permit process. Almost never imported anymore. Color can vary from a light orange to a deep purple, possibly due to growing locale or different sub-species. The orange type sometimes has black lines, but usually very few. The tap tone is wonderful. Very limited supply on the market. Also called Siamese Rosewood.
