Ziricote, thicker dried pieces. Drying ziricote takes a lot of patience and years. We did that with these to make sure they were stable before selling. This wood type also cracks a lot during drying, so it is best to always buy it dry, rather than waxed/wet because you can get stuck with cracks otherwise.
Piece T
Ziricote, dried, size: 2 9/16 x 2 9/16 x 5 7/8 inches

Ziricote, dried, size: 1 9/16 x 1 9/16 x 5.75 inches
Ziricote is noted for the interesting grain lines, some of which look like landscapes. Use sharp tools, the wood is pretty hard. We usually prefer a finish that starts with sanding sealer to avoid darkening the wood too much. The pieces shown are not finished. If shipped during very hot weather we will apply a clear finish to protect in shipping.

Actual pieces shown, order below. These pieces are completely dried. They were dried over a decade, this wood is ready to use. This wood is uncommon on the market in dried and truly defect free pieces over 1.5 inch thick. Waxed wet pieces with multiple hidden cracks are usually what you find when buying this wood, these are not like that.

Actual pieces shown, order below. These pieces are completely dried. They were dried over a decade, this wood is ready to use. This wood is uncommon on the market in dried and truly defect free pieces over 1.5 inch thick. Cracks in dried wood are very common and we must cut away something like 70% of a board to get the good 30%. Of that remaining 30%, maybe 50% has a decent pattern, and just a few pieces have a very good pattern. Much of ziricote is pretty plain, despite the pictures you might see on the internet. It is common for many boards to just have a few dark lines spaced out over the entire large board weighing 40+ pounds. Also, it is becoming rare and good pieces of any thickness over 1 inch are uncommon.
