Koala & Madagascar Plum

Koala burl is from the type of eucalyptus trees that Koala bears eat. This particular tree grew in Hawaii, so there weren’t actually any koalas around to miss this one. This is a burl that has many gaps. We carefully filled them from the outside, you’d likely have to fill more inside as that is the way this burl is made. This is the last we have of this burl, we hope to offer it again someday.

Madagascar Plum burl is a very rare burl from Southeast Asia. The color is an unusual dark purple tan with occasional yellow areas. These were dried for years before we cut them recently. We really haven’t been able to get good ones of these for about 6 or more years.
