Pernambuco 1to5

Genuine Pernambuco. This wood hasn't been imported in about 20 years or more. These dried pieces are high quality and note that #1 has curl figure in most areas.

Maple, Figured

Dried pieces in figured maple. Some very high grade figure in these, they all meet the definition for Gallery Grade Plus (GG+) since they have four sided high figure.

Masur Birch 35-47

Masur Birch is a highly desired patterned wood from Finland and Belarus mostly. Recent research (2017) has reversed the previous belief that these patterns are caused by beetle attack. Studies have shown that the trees that have these patterns are genetically different from those that don't have patterns. This is a process of natural growth in the tree rather then a response to insect attack. The quality of patterns in these pieces is far above average and required very selective cutting techniques to get this kind of appearance. Notes: Piece 36 has some rounded corners.

Masur Birch 48-49

Pernambuco 17to20

Genuine rare Pernambuco. Dried pieces. Old stock from many years ago, you cannot get this wood imported for about 20 years or so. Color can be deepened by direct sun exposure, usually in hours.

Pernambuco 21to24

Genuine Pernambuco in bigger sizes. Dried old stock. Note that number 24 is musical instrument and is near perfect quartersawn as well. Color can be altered/darkened by sun exposure for some hours (3-8 usually).

Nepal Sandalwood JtoO

Nepal Sandalwood (osyris wightiana) is related to other sandalwood types. It has been used to mix into sandalwood essential oil since the 1800's. The smell is not as obvious as high grade Indian sandalwood or the the Hawaii Sandalwood types. It usually requires heating to be smelled and the aroma is more mellow than other sandalwood. Generally the lighter the color and the more burl in a piece the more smell it has. Reddish pieces usually have less smell, no idea why (however the color makes up for that!). This super rare material was imported around 2006 and as far as I can tell, not again since then. We don't have much left but wanted to put a rare offering together with these. They mostly have small natural splits, divets and some holes. We worked extensively on each piece that get those natural areas filled and glued with superglue. Expect some more gluing to be needed inside in some cases if you want to have a smooth surface as shown in the pics. It is a dream to work and has a unique beautiful look.

Pernambuco 6to16

Genuine Pernambuco from Brazil. Old stock brought into the country decades ago. Import and export has been restricted/stopped for about 18-20 years. We don't have much left but we love this wood and hope you enjoy it too!

Mun Ebony AtoE

Mun Ebony is a very rare type of ebony mostly from Laos. It has various colors of green (from grass green to deep army green) striping with tan to reddish tan other stripes. Almost never seen for sale anymore, we got these a very long time ago and dried them fully.
