gallery grade plus (gg+)=outstanding highest figure with burl eyes/rays over 90% of the piece on FOUR faces.
gallery grade (gg) = Very high figure with burl eyes/rays over at least 90% of the piece on two faces. Each piece is striking.
Burl Grade: formerly called gallery grade- (gg-)= High figure with burl eyes/rays over 50% of the piece on two faces. May have very small bark inclusion.
turning grade (usually left unmarked)= Burl eyes and/or some figure. Still very beautiful.
🪵 Good to know
If there is any sapwood on your piece, it will be noted or pictured below unless it is just a tiny amount on an edge. Sapwood often makes for great contrast!
