Brazilian Kingwood 13-22
NO EXPORTS NOTES: DRIED high quality pieces. A fairly rare wood that is only imported rarely now, under a permit process that severely limits what is available.
Bois de Rose pen blank, 3/4Note: these are samples. Your piece could be darker than the top piece and look almost black when you receive it. It can be very dark all the way through, or could look like the lower one in the picture above. Unfortunately we cannot easily select older pieces for color, because there is no way to tell without cutting the wood first (due to a dark violet patina on old pieces). The normal range of colors goes from purple black to reddish, and they all look basically the same on the outside, but we do make guesses when asked. This wood cannot be shipped outside the USA due to CITES trade rules on woods from Madagascar. Limited supply. Limit of 4 per each seperate order, per day

Borneo Rosewood 100-106
Nice dried pieces in this very hard to find wood from Southeast Asia. These might look lighter because they are fresh cut, however they came from dark red pieces. It is the deepest red exotic that is also dense. Though it is very difficult to dry (must be done extra slowly), it is stable once dry. Color can be darkened by putting it in direct sunlight. Stays red long term, does not tend to turn brown. BEST of the reds in all woods we have found!
