This rare offering is from the San Juan section of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, USA. These trees can live to great ages, 1000’s of years in some cases. The wood sold here was cut only from dead trees that were killed in a fire in the 1870’s. (pinus aristata)
This is one of the rarest, or the rarest wood from North America. It took us many years to find one source with just a small amount available.
