African Blackwood 1to7

African Blackwood is a genuine rosewood. Normally used for making musical instruments and has great working properties. Can be used for many things including ornamental turnery. The color of this wood is not black, despite the name. Colors are really a variation of dark violet and browns. Sometimes when finished it looks black.

Afzelia Burl J-M

These pieces are completely dried. Super hard to find in this quality and dry, virtually gone from the market.

Amboyna Burl 205to209

Top figured amboyna burl in dried pieces.  These are the medium weight amboyna burl and are about 30% less expensive than our heavyweight pieces (note that our average charge for heavyweight pieces is 50% less than the only other place I can find similar quality).  In other words these are really a deal.  This is basically the end of your medium weight stock except pen blanks so please take advantage of this . This amboyna is super easy to sand and work.  

African Blackwood 8to11

African Blackwood is a genuine rosewood and has been highly prized for thousands of years. It is used in musical instrument uses, but is really exquisite for use in all kinds of craft work because the wood finishes great and is a joy to work with. Being a genuine rosewood, supplies are severely limited by a permit program and it is now hard to get.

Afzelia Burl 1to15

Small dried panels in Afzelia burl we originally had cut for small samples many years ago.  I found them in a forgotten box recently, where they'd been for about 12 years.   Afzelia burl is extremely rare and very hard to find.   Note that these are good for various uses including knife blocks, or cutting in two and using as two short pen blanks.   Price shown is nothing like what we would have to pay if we got these now.  The price of these would average $21 each at current prices, so take advantage of this find.

Amboyna Burl 16to27

Small panels in dried Amboyna Burl.  These were found in a box recently I had put away about 12 years ago.     Sold at a special price based on what we paid many years ago.  Current pricing for these produced today would average:   $22.50 each Note you can use these for various uses, including knife blanks and also cut down the length to make two amboyna burl short pen blanks.

Amboyna Burl 200to204

Incredibly figured  Amboyna Burl.  This is  Dried medium weight material so it is a dream to sand and very easy to cut.  Still hard enough to be quite tough though.   Because amboyna is usually sold at the source by weight, the somewhat lighter weight means this burl costs over 30% less then it would have if it were the higher weight material.

Amboyna Burl 400to409

Very high grade, high density amboyna burl with great figure. Some of these are GG+ grade with figure everywhere. Dried pieces.

African Blackwood 12to14

Genuine Rosewood bowl blanks in African Blackwood. These used to be easy to find, but not for a long time. These were dried for over a decade, truly ready to use. The piece #12 has some burl rays you can see in the front, and some other figure scattered around. 13 has figure in that one lighter area. 14 is very dark and appears to be musical instrument grade, uncommon for sure.

Amboyna Burl 337to338

Two bowl blanks in dried Amboyna Burl.   337 doesn't remind me of any pieces I have cut in the past, this area of the slab seems to have a bit of what would normally be called Xylay figure that is found in rare pieces of Afzelia.  338 is a high figure piece with natural edge that will allow a nice bowl just as it is, but will also allow other choices if you cast it with acrylic.  Both are heavily discounted.   Cut from same slab as pieces 300 to 342.
