Australian Blackwood (acacia melanoxylon) pen blanks in GG. Gallery grade means there are at least two very figured sides, or sometimes even 3-4 sides that are figured. Close relative of Hawaiian Koa and very hard to tell apart sometimes. But less expensive, and more importantly, still available unlike Koa which is nearly gone in high figured pieces. Bethlehem/Jerusalem Olivewood
The first 4 pieces are figured Bethlehem Olivewood. Picked out of hundreds of pieces, these are uncommon with this level of figure. Letter D is a burl. E through J are figured Olivewood from Jerusalem. Piece J is a burl, but all these pieces have great figure. We culled these out for years and looked through many hundreds of blanks to find these. You can get a certificate of authenticity for these, just request in comments on checkout.

Borneo Rosewood 28-39
Borneo Rosewood is a rare type of red colored wood from the island of Borneo and also Southeast Asia (Thailand, etc). It is considered the best wood to keep a red color over a long period of time. The wood is quite dense and polishes very well. The darker pieces turn a sort of cranberry red over time. The pieces that are more orange turn a red color over time. Note that the pictures shown pieces that are recently cut, they have not had time to turn to a deeper shade yet. It does not tend to turn brown, making it quite unusual. This is not a genuine rosewood (which all have a latin name starting with "dalbergia") and for that reason it is allowed to be shipped worldwide.

Buckeye Burl Pen Blanks 1-22
(note some numbers out of order, look down list please) Stabilized Buckeye Burl pen blanks. The size varies, see the labeled photo. These are stabilized with resin under very high pressure to make a dense and reliable blank. We always go over them with superglue after they are stabilized to make sure any crevices reachable from the outside are filled. While it is not common, it is possible to find a cavity inside stabilized pieces since resin does not actually fill gaps, just fills the cells in the wood (This is true of all stabilization types I am aware of). NOTE: A couple of the product numbers are out of order when you order them, sorry, this is a glitch in the display right now, so just make sure you pick the product number you want and all will be fine!

medium dark color, from Israel Carob is a beautiful wood mentioned in the Bible in Luke 15:16. The word "carat" comes from the carob tree seeds, which are very uniform in weight and were used to determine the weight of one "carat".
