Ebony 307 to 313

Black Ebony dried pieces. We show them unfinished to make sure you can see the wood. Most vendors don’t do that, because if you put enough clear coat or wax over ebony you can make it look black in a photo even if the color is really off. These will be jet black or close when a finish is applied. We will need to put a finish on them before shipping to you to prevent damage in the mail.

Grades of each piece are noted in the picture. If there is more than one grade shown, it is between the two grades.

It is interesting to note that all of these (except 307) started out as rough 1.5 x 1.5 x 12’s. After drying them and removing all the cracks and bad areas this is what is left (sometimes it doesn’t work out this well). We do have some bulk 1.5 x 1.5 x 12’s and you can see why they sell for much less, you lose about 40% of the wood on average to get them into this quality. I’ve cut more than a thousand pieces over the years, and losses average around 40% when buying waxed pieces. That is why all ebony that is for sale is not equal.
