Brazilian Kingwood

This is Brazilian Kingwood. It is a genuine rosewood and becoming rare in quality pieces like these. Last time imported was about 5 years ago, but that was just a very small amount and before that it was many years prior for the last time allowed out of Brazil. We hope it will be allowed out of Brazil again, but the current situation is that we will likely run out in the near future.

Brazilian Tulipwood 1to9

Dried Brazilian Tulipwood with selected best color. This wood is gone or nearly gone from the market (and our shop). We don't know if anyone will be able to import more or not, Brazil stopped exports around 2014 and has allowed no more out since then. Brazil currenly has a plan to ban all wood exports after 2028. But actions in the country make it unclear if they'll do that. If they do implement this it would mean the following woods would not be available: Bloodwood, canarywood (for the most part), Purpleheart (for the most part) and many more. NOTE: we cannot send this wood outside the USA due to strict CITES regulations.

Briar Burl AtoH

Briar Burl is a special wood usually used for making smoking pipes. It also turns out to be a great wood for woodworking too. Very easy to sand even though it is hard and the results are great. This is a very difficult wood to produce, the burls are odd small shapes with holes cracks and stones in the them. This is why you almost never see high quality blanks for sale, just the burls. The labor is prohibitive, but we like to make some for our customers from time to time because they are really interesting. Note: Prices actually went down from the last time we offered these years ago, we just got a better yeild this time!

Buckeye Burl 28 - 34

Buckeye Burl that has been dried and stabilized with resin. We take the extra step of searching for any imperfections we can fill with superglue to make a more perfect blank. Really nice pieces.

Buckeye Burl 52 to 59

Buckeye Burl from Northern California, USA. These pieces have been stabilized, and the added step of using super glue to fill an external defects remaining after stabilization was done.

Canarywood 1to10

Canarywood from Brazil. These were hand picked for special color and are much better than normal canarywood. All are dried of course, we try hard to avoid saddling our customers with wet wood that delays your projects, or even worse can cause cracking.

Cherry Burl FtoN

Cherry Burl from the Appalachia area of the southern US. Selected superior grade burl figure that is far better than average pieces. These piece were dried over a period of years in slab form, then cut and repeatedly soaked in superglue to get a better surface. Gluing internal areas might be required in some cases.

Cocobolo 2x2x12's, 70 to 81

Beautiful Cocobolo which is a genuine rosewood. It is severely limited in supply and only comes in small amounts through a permit system. Supply could stop at any time but for now we are lucky to have this rosewood again, after some years of not being able to get new pieces. These pieces are dried and unlike most sold on the market they have been checked (including the ends!) for checks or cracks before being sold.

Cocobolo 92to102

Cocobolo rosewood in dried pieces with interesting grain. These are all nice pieces I have gathered here and there over many years, hard to replace things like this!

Cocobolo A to K

Dried Cocobolo 2 x 2 x 12's (K is 11.5 inches long). Really nice genuine rosewood, we are lucky to still be able to get this stuff. Most rosewoods are basically off the market, but this is still coming in small amounts, through a permit program.
