Australian Blackwood GG pen blanks
Australian Blackwood (acacia melanoxylon) pen blanks in GG. Gallery grade means there are at least two very figured sides, or sometimes even 3-4 sides that are figured. Close relative of Hawaiian Koa and very hard to tell apart sometimes. But less expensive, and more importantly, still available unlike Koa which is nearly gone in high figured pieces. Sizes are 3/4 x 3/4 x 5-6 inches long. Pen blanks are always sold dried.$8.00

Craft Blanks
Australian Blackwood 1-6
Wonderful dried and figured pieces that look just like Koa, at a much lower price. These all came from a very large slab. It was part of the outside of a large tree and every bit of it was highly figured. Some Australian blackwood looks more like the photo at the top of this page, but this slab produced pieces that look so much like koa I cannot tell them apart from Koa, and I cannot guarantee that this isn't really koa that was mis-identified as Aussie Blackwood.

Black & White Ebony 423-429
Really tough to find this wood sold dried, usually it is green. These have been tested to be 12% or less with a moisture meter that adjusts for the species, other meters don't work well. NOTES: some of the pieces have been smeared with super glue clear/black which was then sanded off

Black Ebony 400to401
Dried bowl blanks in Black Ebony. Super rare to find dried bowl blanks in this wood because it is a lot of trouble to produce them. At least one of these has been drying for over 19 years, the other for at least a decade. Ebony cracks really badly if not dried super slowly/correctly but it is fairly stable and nice to work once dry like these. Note that we may need to spray a thin clear finish on these to ship them safely to you.
Piece 400
