Sandalwood (Hawaiian) 1 - 16
A precious wood of great rarity when mature like these. Santalum elipticum is a treasure similar to the highest grades of Mysore Sandalwood from India. This particular group is even more special because they have more oil (and aroma) than even normal good sandalwood. This is why the color is darker in this group, rather than the usual yellowish color. A premium incense, carving and turning wood, as well as an oustanding wood for very special handles. We have very little left, once it is gone, we have no way to get more.

Pyinma, also called Asian Curly Satinwood is an uncommon wood from Laos and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. It does have a satiny feel and polishes like glass. New supplies are not possible since about 2016 when Laos banned nearly all wood exports. We have kept them from many years ago and offer them now at a competitive price. Check prices elsewhere, these are substantially less than market price. ALL pieces ARE 1.5 x 1.5 x 12 inches

Pyinma Atoi
Pyinma (aka Asian Curly Satinwood) is a rare wood type from Laos. It was last allowed to be imported about 6 years ago. Reason is not necessarily because it is rare, but all wood trade was stopped in Laos at that time. The pieces are old stock, so totally dry and pictures never quite do them justice as the figure really jumps out when you move them around in good light. Incredibly easy to sand and work, this wood was quite popular when more available. We hope it will be available again some day, for now we don't have much left.
