Briar Burl AtoH
Briar Burl is a special wood usually used for making smoking pipes. It also turns out to be a great wood for woodworking too. Very easy to sand even though it is hard and the results are great. This is a very difficult wood to produce, the burls are odd small shapes with holes cracks and stones in the them. This is why you almost never see high quality blanks for sale, just the burls. The labor is prohibitive, but we like to make some for our customers from time to time because they are really interesting. Note: Prices actually went down from the last time we offered these years ago, we just got a better yeild this time!

Brazilian Tulipwood Boards
High quality dried pieces in this rare genuine rosewood. It was last imported into the USA about 13 years ago. Brazil has not allowed more out of the country since that time. Usually when you do find boards for sale, they are with checks. This is because almost every tulipwood board has checks in the center that run vertically up the board. These are different, we have cut them from the area without checks, to the side of the center. We also do have some normal tulipwood boards in 4/4, inquire if interested.
